The real face

Is this video real?

Upload a video of a person, and OriginAI checks their face frame by frame for signs it was swapped or edited. Most checks take about a minute.

The face is rebuilt

A face can be swapped without you noticing.

Deepfake apps can paste one person's face onto someone else, or change what their lips say. Pause on any single frame and it can look completely real.

The changes are found

OriginAI points out what changed.

A scanning wave passes over the face, and each place that changed lights up red, like the eyes, nose and mouth. Your result shows the same kind of map for your own video.

See it on a deepfake

This clip is a known face swap from Celeb-DF, a public research collection of deepfake videos. Drag the handle to see it the way OriginAI does.

Scan A Video

Scan a video in three steps

No account, nothing to install, and no technical knowledge needed.

  1. Say what kind of video it is

Clear, blurry, too perfect, or dark and shaky. Your answer picks the detector that suits it best.

  2. Upload the video

Any common video file from your phone or computer, up to 2 minutes long. It's deleted right after the check.

  3. Read your answer

See whether it looks real or edited, how strongly the check leans each way, and which moments stood out.

What your result looks like

Every check ends with a short, plain answer, plus the details if you want to look closer.

  1. The answer

Likely Real or Likely Deepfake, in plain words.

  2. The score

0 to 100%. Past the line means it leans edited.

  3. The face map

Brighter spots mattered more to the result.

  4. The moments

Flagged moments are the parts that stood out.

  1. 4 0:00–0:04 · 93%, above the line
  2. 5 0:02–0:06 · 50%, above the line
  3. 2 0:05–0:08 · 95%, above the line
  4. 1 0:07–0:11 · 97%, above the line
  5. 3 0:12–0:16 · 94%, above the line
From Vidi's real check of the clip above. Each picture is a moment the detector looked at closely, with the seconds it covers and its own score; the numbers show the same moments on the chart. Point at a number or a picture to shade the seconds it covers. Flagged moments rose above the line.

How it can tell

A fake face often looks fine in a still picture. It's harder to make it look right in motion, so OriginAI checks both.

How the face looks

Skin that's too smooth, blurry edges where the face meets the hair or neck, and lighting that doesn't match the rest of the scene.

How the face moves

Blinks, lip movements and small expressions that don't flow naturally, or edges that flicker from one frame to the next.

Both checks are combined into one answer for the whole video. Learn how it works

Which option should I pick?

OriginAI has four detectors, each trained on a different kind of video. Choose the one that sounds most like yours.

  • Clear, good-quality video

    Uses Veni HQ

  • Forwarded or re-uploaded, looks blocky

    Uses Veni LQ

  • Looks almost too perfect

    Uses Vidi

  • Dark, shaky or noisy

    Uses Vici

Not sure which one fits? Start with "Clear, good-quality video". If the answer is close, scan the same video again with another option and compare the two.

Good to know

OriginAI gives you a strong hint. Treat it as one clue, not the final word.

It's a hint, not proof

A high score means the video looks like the fakes it learned from. A low score doesn't prove a video is real.

It only checks the face

It doesn't check the voice, who posted the video, or when it was made. Those are worth checking too.

Better video, better answer

Dark, blurry or heavily compressed videos, or faces that turn away, give it less to go on.
